Trucker Desiree is a loyal member of the Tachoblog Tribe and has been a contributor to the blog and View From The Cab since the very beginning.
Regular readers will have seen that recently some of TruckerDesiree’s views have included her dog Karma. Desiree adopted the small German Shepherd from her trucking terminal. The dog was abandoned and just ‘hanging out’ there. People would feed her, but the dog was very frightened and skittish, not allowing anyone to come too close.
Desiree managed to get a body harness to finally catch her and she’s been caring for Karma as she drives across the United States. Desiree has invested over $500.00 so far on Karma and one of the tests that were performed by the vet came back positive for Heartworm.
As you probably know this is a fatal disease for dogs (as well as other animals) and without treatment, animals have no hope for recovery. The treatment is not only expensive, but requires time alone and rest for the treated animal to ensure the dead worms are not passed through the animals vital organs, but rather absorbed by the body.
Tachoblog would like to ask you to help Desiree save this beautiful and loving animal from a painful and horrible premature death.
I’m sure you can understand that on a new driver’s salary it will be extremely difficult for her to manage the cost of the treatment, as she has already invested so much to save her new friend,
