SEKO's Dalllas Office Expands Operations
SEKO recently expanded its Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) operation into a larger facility to accommodate customer demand.
SEKO Dallas is a full-service logistics operation and primarily serves the greater part of Texas and Louisiana. The office handles virtually all transportation and logistics services including domestic and international shipping, customs brokerage, warehouse management and time-definite ground transportation. The office is located within close proximity of the Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW).
The steady and aggressive growth of SEKO Dallas has been driven, in part, by SEKO’s increasing global presence and its innovative technology-based solutions that provide complete supply chain visibility for its customers. An increase in its import/export business has also been a significant reason for this growth trend, as has an increase in domestic business. The SEKO Dallas office continues to experience substantial growth in several vertical markets – one of them being the expanding residential delivery market. Other recent vertical markets the SEKO Dallas office has secured in the past year include international supply chain distribution for the aerospace and aviation industry.
The newly expanded facility provides warehouse storage capacity and offers comprehensive warehouse, inventory and distribution services utilizing the SEKO Warehouse Management System (WMS). The Company’s WMS system enhances the supply chain visibility process by providing online access to inventory status, shipment release notification and various reporting functions. The facility has increased its office space by 35 percent and its dock space by more than 40 percent, enabling continued expansion of warehousing and distribution services for its current and future customer base. Additionally, to meet the needs of customers, the office also owns its own fleet of delivery units that handle local cartage and residential deliveries, providing even greater flexibility in moving freight.
General Manager, Paula Howard stated: “Of great importance to our customers is SEKO’s strength in understanding the demands and challenges involved in moving heavy and/or oversized cargo efficiently through extended global supply chains on an expedited basis – both domestically and internationally. SEKO Dallas has gained a substantial foothold in many major vertical markets by listening to its customers’ needs and working closely with them to provide capable solutions that are both flexible and innovative in their execution. The results bring greater overall cost-savings and ROI to the customer.”
“SEKO has placed a tremendous amount of focus and effort on building its home delivery sector in recent years due to the increasing degree of online retail shopping, and is receiving nice dividends for the Company,” said William Wascher, President and CEO of SEKO. “The SEKO Dallas office has been a key component in our efforts to expand within this growing Web-based market niche, as well as in the international aerospace and aviation industry. We are looking forward to the continued growth and success of the office in 2008 and beyond.”
