Cargowise EDI Expands into Western Europe
CargoWise edi, a developer of software solutions for the international freight forwarding and logistics industries, today announced it has expanded into western Europe by opening a full-service office in the United Kingdom.
The new office, located in Milton Keynes, compliments Cargowise edi’s sales and support network on three continents and provides full coverage to customers throughout Europe.
“This is a major step to building our global footprint,” said Richard White, CEO, CargoWise edi. “Our expansion strategy focused first on growing our presence in the U.SA. Now we turn our attention to Europe, with special focus on the United Kingdom, the Benelux countries and Germany. With the launch of the U.K. office, we are well on our way to completing the development of our worldwide network.”
White added, “WLG (UK) Ltd., part of the Wako Logistics Group, has become our first ediEnterprise customer in the United Kingdom, which adds to our existing European customer base with another two UK customers planning to go live on ediEnterprise during the next few months. Given our progress, the timing of our European expansion strategy has proven to be right.”
Effective January 1, WLG migrated its operational and financial systems to ediEnterprise. “We were apprehensive at the prospect of changing both systems at the same time, but the intuitive nature of edi, coupled with the comprehensive training and support, has made the transition painless,” said Mark Fearnley, Operations Manager, WLG. “We are now enjoying the increased functionality that edi delivers which benefits our company and, most importantly, our customers.”
ediEnterprise is a highly modular system designed to connect and streamline the operations and management of international supply chain service providers such as freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers, depots, container terminals, warehouses, trucking companies and other supply chain providers.
Corbet commented, “The global consolidation among multi-national freight forwarders is triggering compelling opportunities in almost every market. Europe is no exception, and Europe is a key geography for us to bring our proven ediEnterprise product to a new marketplace.”
Cris Arens, CargoWise edi President of Global Sales, added, “We are absolutely delighted to have Steve Corbet join us. Steve is well known and highly respected in the European logistics industry and he adds considerable experience and depth to our executive team.”
