CitySprint has been chosen by nutritionist Nell Nelson, best known for her Woman Who Ate Scotland TV series, as the courier partner for her Edinburgh-based food delivery service, Nutritionally Yours.
CitySprint, which has 30+ ServiceCentres in the UK, including Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, will deliver homemade, locally-sourced and nutritional meals to Nutritionally Your’s customers either at their home or in their offices, six days a week. Nell says: “My customers expect their meals to be delivered on time every day.

“It is no good if they get their lunch 20 minutes into their allotted lunchbreak, so a reliable delivery method is vital to the success of my business.”

The meals are prepared on the same day and use fresh ingredients. Nell, who is a qualified nutritionist, devises a program of daily meals tailored to her customers’ individual needs. She says: “Nutritionally Yours is for people who want to eat healthy, nutritious food but are unable to cook for themselves. They might include people that are too busy with work, recovering from illness or an operation, or simply people who lack confidence in the kitchen.

“They can expect to have more energy, sleep better and have improved concentration, as their blood sugar will be balanced and they won’t be on a roller- coaster sugar high.”

Nutritionally Yours is a new venture which is expected to be well-received in Scotland; a region which has a notoriously bad diet. As well as a courier provider, which is flexible and responsive, Nell was also keen to work with a partner who has a responsible attitude to the environment.

Nell, who has cycled all over Scotland researching and filming The Woman Who Ate Scotland, comments: “CitySprint came out top in terms of depth of resource and I also like their environmentally responsible attitude. As my business grows I hope to employ elements of its carbon-reduction initiatives.

“CitySprint has helped me off to a flying start by providing a smooth and well-run delivery service.”

With CitySprint, clients can track their deliveries OnLine and in real-time.

Nell adds: “With its sophisticated CourierLocator technology my more eager customers can even track their meals’ progress on CitySprint’s website; more dine online than meals on wheels!”

Andy Dorrian, Regional Manager for CitySprint Scotland, says: “This is a real example of how flexible we are and the effort we place on developing solutions which are tailored to our clients’ business needs. Our flexibility and ability to respond is down to our unique infrastructure in the UK. We have the scale of a large business, enabling us to invest in technology and environmental solutions whilst also being able to provide customers with very specific, and local, services.

“Nutritionally Yours has very unique requirements; we are delivering perishable goods which need to be delivered during a very specific time-frame. We look forward to developing the relationship with Nutritionally Yours and helping the people of Scotland eat more healthily!”

Besides wanting to build her business, Nell wants to encourage people to take control of their own diets and follow her unique recipes themselves. She says: “Nutritionally Yours isn’t meant to be a permanent fix for my customers. When their lifestyle enables them to get back into the kitchen I want them to eat just as well. Hopefully our meals will have opened their eyes to a healthier diet, permanently.”
