Test Bookings Concern

Document Actions
With the forthcoming planned closure of the Driving Standards Agency office in Edinburgh and the subsequent transfer of operations to the DSA Newcastle office, there is concern from Scottish training companies that driving test times will be difficult to book in bulk.

Glasgow-based truck training guru Walter Ritchie commented, "The close proximity of the Scottish DSA office in Edinburgh allowed us to chop and change bookings to suit driver candidate throughput. I fear this will not be possible with the new, massive Newcastle office which, with Cardiff, will be one of only two offices instead of five in the UK."

Transport News understands that the headcount is also being reduced in the Traffic Area Offices with the Scottish TAO being particularly affected, although the office of the Traffic Commissioner will remain.
