wtd/vosa

Posted by steve at 09/05/2005 02:14 PM
3 weeks ago a mate of mine was pulled by vosa on a spot check, he asked advice on the wtd and the response he got was; if you keep your cards in order your ok because we have enough to do without checking how many hours you work, basically we don't care how many hours you work; so can anyone explain to me were we stand with comments like that from a vosa official.

Steeeeven, how naive are you mate, you should know you can't trust somebody who works for a government agency (QUANGO)? Of course he's going to tell your mate they aren't bothered, and I bet that as soon as your mate was out of sight the agent wrote down his reg.no. as a likely prey, just like they do when doing a weight check or tyres and tacho's, hell man even the police hate them. The best way to deal with this rtd crap is to bide our time for now because it's like a time bomb with an unpredictable trigger mechanism, then there's always Cheri Blairs human rights crusade so if anyone does get caught making a mistake just go and see the wicked witch and she'll fight your case.

Driving on Tacho and Log book in the same week

I have a mate who works for a local authority during the week using domestic rules. No tacho bit a log book.
At the weekend he drives for a bus company I have told him he is breaking the law as he cannot use tacho and log book in the same week. I am I right?
