"Changing Routine is Not an Option" Says RHA
As a result of these findings, the Foundation's message to the Chancellor was that motorists are already readjusting their travel patterns without the need for further taxation.
The RHA says the report proves enough is enough, "The Road Haulage Association is also keen that there should be no change made to taxation levels in the foreseeable future", said RHA Communications Manager Kate Gibbs. "The very nature of today's haulage industry means that changing routines to cut mileage costs is simply out of the question, for this reason it is absolutely vital that road hauliers do not face any further increases in their operating costs. We HAVE to see a continuing freeze in fuel duty, certainly for commercial vehicles. WIthout it, the future for British hauliers looks bleak indeed"
