Above in this comment thread: Sat Nav Low Bridge Solution

Low Bridges

Posted by John Peaches at 12/11/2007 09:32 AM
Hi, I have been using this solution for a while and can honestly say that it does work. Whilst I think all drivers agree that the industry has been very slow in opiucking up on this area. Surely we are a large enough body of usres to warrant a dedicated system ? If a company like this can quickly get a warning system on the market for £20, then why isnt it possible for some others to build this into their units ?

Well I also see that they have moved away from only the tomtoms, I came accross them here www.tomtompoi.net and they also ran www.tomtomfree.com It seems that it was enough of a hit beacause they are now www.hgvsolutions.com . Before that I just used a list from the Truckers Atlas. This has chnaged my life though, because I get warnings now in the cab well before I need to avoid anything. I look forwards to the developments over the next few years. why hasnt anyone got weights and widths yet I wonder ?
