Mercedes-Benz Axor wins the ‘X factor’
The fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz Axor has been given an added dash of ‘X appeal’, making it more comfortable and cost-effective than ever.
A fleet of new Axor X demonstration units have been delivered to dealers nationwide and are now available for operators to test.
Reliable and economical to operate, the Axor is the tractor of choice for many of the biggest names on Britain’s roads.
The Axor X builds on these qualities but incorporates a host of additional features aimed not only at those who take the wheel but also at those who pay the bills.
Drivers get a multi-adjustable air-sprung seat, a Bluetooth-enabled stereo and CD storage box, and a dash trimmed in high-quality brushed steel-effect trim, as well as an electric sunroof with tinted glass.
Axor X is also equipped as standard with the acclaimed Mercedes PowerShift 12-speed automated transmission. This simple-to-operate system makes for more relaxed and fuel-efficient progress, as well as contributing to safety by allowing drivers to concentrate fully on the road ahead instead of worrying about which gear they’re in.
Special air deflectors – plus side skirts on 4x2 models – help to reduce fuel consumption, as do the frugal BlueTec® Euro 5 engines fitted as standard. These super-clean powerplants also attract Reduced Pollution Certificates that bring road tax savings worth up to £500 a year on vehicles registered before October 2009.
Meanwhile, by including a repair and maintenance contract Mercedes-Benz has ensured Axor X owners will pay nothing (up to 160,000km per year) for routine servicing, the MoT test fee and Ministry inspections, together with additional mechanical repairs, everyday wear and tear items and 24-hour emergency roadside assistance, for two years.
Mercedes-Benz Truck Sales & Marketing Director Sam Whittaker declares: “Axor X appeals to the head as well as the heart, and adds up to a great deal for drivers and operators alike.”
Operators wishing to arrange a test drive of the new Axor X should contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealer.
