Cartwright Group Delivering Greater Efficiency for TM Logistics
Cartwright has supplied TM Logistics with 15 demountable, curtain-sided box bodies, five tandem-axle drawbar trailers with high lift air suspension and 11 chassis installations featuring the Cartwright Clearlift demount system, which uses the vehicle’s air suspension front and rear.
TM Logistics will use the new equipment for its contract to deliver insulation products nationwide for Kingspan Insulation.
The logistics company believes the Cartwright equipment will bring benefits for both the environment and its balance sheet.
Use of the drawbar vehicles will mean load capacity is increased by 22%, resulting in a huge reduction in the number of journeys made per annum. As the drawbars are demountable they can be used to take goods to a central location to be converted into smaller loads for onward distribution.
TM Logistics’ Head of Engineering and Compliance, Adam Purshall, believes that the demountable drawbars are essential for accessing areas with delivery restrictions and for reducing the numbers of vehicles used.
He said: “The drawbars and demounts give us much more flexibility and increased carrying capacity. It makes it possible for us to ensure that we can meet customers’ needs in the most efficient and effective way possible.
“We came to Cartwright because they understood our needs and were able to design and deliver exactly what was required. Their experience, professionalism and ability to deliver the order in exact accordance with our needs and our timescale has helped us and our customers.’’
TM Logistics uses contract hire through Keltruck for the Kingspan contract. Keltruck, the UK’s largest independent Scania distributor, supplied Scania R340LB4x2MNA drawbar chassis.
