New DAFs for CV Show

Document Actions
As part of the warm-up for the imminent Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in April, DAF have pre-announced the five trucks they will have on their stand. They will feature new model derivatives, evolutionary enhancements across its range and the lightest 44 tonner money can buy.

CF65 Increases its payload

DAF has made major enhancements to its CF65 model of which around 800 were sold in the UK market last year. The changes, which will be unveiled at the CV Show, include up to 150kg more payload (depending upon wheelbase) and a reduced chassis height.

The CF65 18 tonne GVW range was introduced in 2001 and DAF has now made the first significant revisions to its specifications. The most important change is a revised frame, now 260mm deep compared with the previous 310mm. This lower frame height enables all models of 4.9m wheelbase and above to achieve a 50mm reduction in chassis height and additionally up to 150kg weight saving and thus improved payload. The lightest CF65 in the range now offers a body/payload of up to 13 tonnes.

Other design enhancements include the repositioning of such components as the silencer and batteries allowing simpler installation of bodywork or special features such as truck-mounted cranes.

FA LF45.170 Day

Currently Britain's most popular 7.5 tonner, the DAF LF45 featured at the CV Show is a haulage model and features the new MS4150 satellite navigation system, now available as a factory fit option.

FTP CF85.430 Sleeper

This CF85 is the lightest 44 tonne tractor available in the UK and can weigh as little as 7100kg ready for the road, including full fuel tank, fifth wheel and mud wings. The Show exhbit features 12-speed AS-tronic gear box, Vehicle Stability Control, DAF Engine Brake, alloy wheels and 340 litre alloy fuel tank.

FAX CF85.340 Day

This version of the popular CF85 is in the colours of BOC Gases - the only customer vehicle in the DAF display. Its unusual 8 x 2 configuration, with a steering/lifting rear axle, has not been seen at a UK show before and is likely to attract considerable attention from operators requiring an outstanding payload and manoeuvrability. The FAX CF85 is plated at 32 tonnes GVW but can be operated up to 44 tonne3s GCW in drawbar configuration.

FTG XF95.530 Super Space Cab - Alpine

The XF95 will be displayed with a state-of-the-art driver entertainment package from Alpine Electronics. Fitted with newly available Zenon headlamps, 12-speed AS-tronic automated transmission, ZF intarder, DAF Engine Brake, Alcoa high gloss alloy wheels and even high-vis red seat belts.

The new DAF trucks can be seen on their stand, No 510 in Hall 20.
