Doseley Motors Gets a Lift

Document Actions
As an authorised repairer for a string of premium brand car manufacturers, Doseley Motors knows all about what makes a quality vehicle.
So it’s no surprise that the Telford company’s new 7.5-tonne recovery truck wears the three-pointed star of Mercedes-Benz.

An Atego 818 model, the chassis was supplied by Wolverhampton dealer Gerard Mann Commercial Vehicles. It is fitted with a radio remote-controlled, 3.0-tonne capacity low approach Hydraloader slidebed body by Droitwich-based Roger Dyson Group – the unit also boasts an 8,000lb hydraulic winch and rear towing equipment.

Doseley Motors is a family business founded in 1977 by Managing Director Iqram Lokat – it is now one of the best-equipped repair centres in Shropshire, with high-tech facilities including the latest controlled environment spraybooths, paint mixing systems and a four-wheel alignment rig.

The company’s customer base extends from private motorists to fleet operators, accident management specialists and major insurers. Its commitment to quality and service has also earned it prestigious approvals from the car and van divisions of Mercedes-Benz, as well as SMART, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Fiat and Alfa Romeo.

Doseley Motors’ smartly-liveried Atego is being used to collect vehicles that have been involved in accidents – most recoveries are made within a 50-mile radius of its bodyshop in Station Road, Dawley, although occasional assignments can take it much further afield.

“Mercedes-Benz vehicles are renowned for their reliability and build quality,” explains Mr Lokat, “while the truck’s 180hp engine offers all of the power we need to lift the heaviest cars.

“We are at the leading edge of repair technology and proud of the reputation we have built over the last 32 years, so image is also very important to us,” he continues. “This new Atego underpins our own brand values perfectly, and is a great mobile advertisement for our business.”
