Sprinter’s a Clear Winner for Nolan uPVC

Document Actions
When double glazing specialist Nolan uPVC decided to buy some new vans for its fitters only one vehicle was in the frame – the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
The Carmarthenshire-based manufacturer and installer of high quality windows, doors, porches and conservatories has just taken delivery of two Sprinter 311CDIs from Swansea dealer Euro Commercials.

Eye-catching in metallic silver with Nolan uPVC’s concertina-style livery, the Long-bodied vans are the first Mercedes on the company’s fleet of 24 commercial vehicles.

“We chose the Sprinter this time for its reputation for reliability and relatively-low running costs, and for the high residual values it commands,” says Managing Director Nolan Nicholas. “But Mercedes-Benz prestige was also an important consideration, given our own established and reputable image.”

Nolan uPVC is an independent, family-run firm that prides itself on providing quality products in a variety of modern and traditional styles, matched by friendly customer service and after sales care. It was named Employer of the Year in 2004 by the West Wales Employment Agency.

The company recently moved its 100-strong workforce from its original site at Fair Lane, Carmarthen, to a new £1.5 million state-of-the art facility at nearby Johnstown, centralising manufacturing, administration, sales and distribution under one roof, while also upgrading plant and machinery, logistics and IT capabilities.

The new site on Llanstephan Road also contains a new 4,500 sq ft walk-in design studio to supplement its high-profile design studio in Cardiff – the largest showroom of its kind in Wales.

Nolan uPVC’s new Mercedes Sprinters are expected to average 25,000 miles a year, delivering to customers throughout the principality.

“Having reliable vehicles is important in enabling us to provide a high level of customer care, ensuring that appointments are kept,” says Mr Nicholas. “It’s reassuring, though, to know that in the event anything does go wrong our Mercedes are covered by the manufacturer’s unlimited mileage, three-year warranty.”

The Mercedes Sprinter combines dynamic good looks, bullet-proof build quality, comprehensive specification and ingenious technology and sets the industry standard in terms of productivity and refinement. Highlights include best-in-class side-loading door widths, outstanding ergonomics and comfort, and powerful and clean CDI diesel engines.

Safety is also an important attribute of the vehicle and a key requirement for Nolan uPVC, which is always conscious of its Duty of Care obligations to employees. The Sprinter’s impressive armoury of active and passive features includes an advanced version of the remarkable ESP® anti-skid system called Adaptive ESP®, which dynamically monitors the vehicle’s load status.
