The FH, which joins a 14 strong fleet, is described by Managing Director Richard Merritt as a ‘flagship’ for the business. “It shows that the company is moving forward. The FH has great presence on the road and the cab provides the driver with a pleasant working environment. This is important as some of our jobs can be very challenging. Having something so nice to drive can ease those bad days !”

“Over the years, Volvo has been an ever present fixture within the company, both as tractor units and specialized crane trucks. With this new FH, I feel Volvo currently has the best tractor unit on the market,” continued Richard.

According to Richard, the tag-axle configuration provides maximum manoeuvrability when on site. “As the units will be hauling crane trucks with capacities up to 25 tonnes, being able to get close to the factory door, or even just being able to back the truck inside the works, has great benefits when loading, unloading and positioning the machinery,” he says.
