Eagle Couriers Exclusive Hertz Deal

Document Actions
An exclusive tie-in deal has been set up between Scotland’s largest independent courier company and the country’s most recognised name in vehicle rentals.
Eagle Couriers, that runs a fleet of 85 vehicles from its bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow, rents its fleet from Hertz on a month to month basis. Each van is signwrited in the company’s trademark red with the Eagle Couriers branding.

Eagle Couriers is now Hertz’s biggest single van client in Scotland.

Davie Hood, Regional Van Sales Manager for Hertz, said: “Our relationship with Eagle is developing and growing alongside each other, as they grow we're enjoying growth with them.

“Eagle is our biggest single client in Scotland as far as vans go.

“The flexible rental scheme it is on is a no nonsense product. It is not tied into any contract and can increase or decrease fleet if without penalty. This relationship works particularly well in the courier industry where there can be absolutely no prediction of how much business a day, a week, a month can bring.”

Eagle Couriers, which has an expanding 3,500 client base, has vans delivered to its bases by Hertz. It also has the option to claim two Nectar points for every £1 spent on rental - Hertz is the only vehicle rental company to offer Nectar points.

Jerry Stewart, Director at Eagle Couriers, said: “It is great we have managed to form such a mutually beneficial tie-in.

“The demand for couriers cannot be planned. It changes on a daily basis. A massive percentage of our business is booked on the day, or just days before, the delivery date. This makes it difficult to plan too far in advance.

“Getting the vehicles on a flexible basis is perfect for us. And being able to signwrite the fleet maintains our image and reputation making this the ideal situation for Eagle Couriers.”
