TIP Celebrates 40 Years at CV Show
At this year’s CV show, TIP Trailer Services have taken a much larger stand space to facilitate the celebration of its 40 years anniversary of its presence in the trailer leasing and rental industry.
TIP are also celebrating the continual growth of the company’s UK rental and leasing fleet, together with its associated services. During the past 12 months, TIP has bucked the trend by continuing to invest in its trailer rental fleet as well as achieve a substantial success with the range of support services that the company launched prior to the last CV Show.
Following an £8 million order for 375 new trailers during 2007, TIP has just placed its 2008 orders for a further 165 refrigerated trailers and 332 dry freight trailers, covering curtainsiders, box trailers, flats and skellies, with the total 2008 order value in excess of £10.8 million.
"As the rental industry consolidates in general, TIP is committed to the UK market and this year’s trailer order continues the major investment programme in our UK business, whilst, at the same time, we are expanding our support services at a rapid speed," said John Murray, Managing Director UK & Ireland, TIP Trailer Services.
With operators looking to take cost out of their businesses and achieve better compliance with legislation, TIP has seen its FleetCare maintenance business go from a standing start in 2007, to over 2600 assets covered at the beginning of 2008. Both large UK and pan European operators as well as smaller companies have adopted the Fleetcare programme as companies focus on their core business.
With TIP Equipment Funding (TEF), a brand new funding product launched during 2007, TIP has achieved sales of over 630 trailers using the TEF programme in under 12 months. Strategically, over 50% of the TEF funded deals have had FleetCare added as part of the deal, and TEF covers not just trailers but is multi asset based.
As part of the FleetIntelligence package, installations of the VeriWise tracking system have exceeded 1000 units in 2007. The future looks even brighter for VeriWise with the planned introduction in Q2 of 2008 of the next generation of modems - DG100 - that features "over the air" upgradeability, offering total flexibility of usage. Changes to the specification of a VeriWise system can be completed with minimal fuss or disruption through this "over the air" facility.
"Visitors to the TIP stand will be able to see at first hand the investment made by TIP in its UK and European business. Fleet expansion and services growth, matched to future investment, will reassure our customers that TIP is moving forward and setting even higher standards in the trailer rental and leasing market," commented John Murray.
