2008 Fleet Business Show

Document Actions
Britain’s first Fleet Business Show will be held on April 29 and 30, 2008 at the Business Design Centre in London.
More than 60 companies supplying vehicles and fleet services to the multi-billion pound UK corporate market have already booked to attend the two-day event, which also features a series of seminars focusing on key industry issues.

Hundreds of fleet decision makers including managing directors, HR directors, finance directors and procurement directors as well as fleet managers, who are responsible for shaping and implementing corporate travel policies, are expected to attend the show at the Islington arena.

Exhibitors booked to-date across a wide cross-section of organisations include leasing and fleet management companies ALD Automotive, Masterlease, ING Car Lease and Venson Automotive Solutions, Britain’s leading vehicle auction companies BCA, Manheim and the Fleet Auction Group, and vehicle manufacturers including Jaguar, Lexus and Skoda. Among other exhibitors will be Deloitte, cfc solutions, Energy Saving Trust, KPMG, the Metropolitan Police, Northgate Vehicle Hire, RoadSafe and Transport for London.

Meanwhile, a packed seminar programme is designed to provide show visitors with up-to-the-minute fleet advice on key fleet issues.

With occupational road risk management top of the boardroom fleet agenda, Road Safety Minister Jim Fitzpatrick will be presenting the business case for ‘saving lives and saving money’ and Inspector Tony Browne, manager of Hampshire Police’s Road Death Investigation Team, will tell delegates exactly what driver, vehicle and company information police officers require from bosses when they investigate a serious road crash involving an at-work driver. He will be speaking in the same month that the long-awaited Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act is finally implemented.

Other speakers include tax experts from the Deloitte & Touche Automotive Sector Group who will provide essential advice on fiscal rule changes impacting on company cars and vans, as well as employees who use their own cars on business as a result of the 2008 Budget. Nigel Underdown, head of transport at the Energy Saving Trust, will explain why the future of fleet is ‘green’ as companies look to reduce their carbon footprint.

Fleet Business Show organiser Ross Durkin, publisher of leading fleet titles Fleet World, Van Fleet World and International Fleet World, said: “The very best in fleet will be at the Fleet Business Show.

“The event is an ideal forum for face-to-face meetings, fact-finding to uncover the very best fleet suppliers have to offer in terms of helping your company improve their cost control and operating efficiencies and seminars designed to enhance management and director knowledge and ensure vehicle operations are at the cutting-edge of best practice.”

Further exhibitors will be announced in the coming weeks and additional show information will be released on the event website at www.fleetbusinessshow.co.uk. To gain free entry to the event visitors can pre-register now by accessing the website.
