Premium Fuel Savings for Langdons
Temperature controlled logistics company, Langdon Industries Ltd., has added 12 new Euro 4 Renault Premium 6x4 450.25 tractor units to its fleet, with a further 19 Euro 5 models on order from Renault Trucks South West.
The vehicles will be used as part of the company’s ‘Chillnet’ operation, providing deliveries to wholesalers, food service depots and manufacturing locations, for clients such as Gerber Foods and Dairy Crest.
With daily operations to locations across the UK, a fuel efficient fleet was cited as a top priority for Langdon Industries’ Fleet Engineer, Graham Millard, “We had a Euro 5 Renault Premium delivered in January and have been monitoring its fuel performance since then. It is running AdBlue at 5.7% and even at this early stage we have already seen a two and a half percent increase in average miles per gallon over the Euro 3 models. We are confident that this will improve even more over the coming months, meaning significant fuel savings from the Euro 4 and Euro 5 models across our fleet.”
“We have always had excellent on-going support and back-up from Renault Trucks South West and all the Renault Trucks on our fleet perform very well,” says Millard. “Our latest order of Euro 5 Renault Premiums came off the back of our positive experience of the existing trucks on our fleet as well as the impressive results of our fuel monitoring programme, which we are very happy with.“
Langdon Industries Ltd., part of the Nagel-Group, is a Logistics Service Provider specialising in temperature controlled transport distribution and modern cold/chill storage facilities.
The company operates a network of depots at Luton, Peterborough, Redditch, Dover and Liverpool, as well as partner depots in Newcastle, Glasgow, Moy (N. Ireland) and Limerick (Eire). Langdon Industries’ modern Bridgwater depot is the hub for chilled service to major multiple retailer regional distribution centres throughout the UK. The company’s fleet consists of 190 vehicles and around 176 trailers.
