PACCAR Supports Hungarian National Library
The PACCAR Foundation has contributed to leading non-profit institutions since 1951, which have improved the quality of life in the communities where PACCAR has a major presence.
The construction of a state-of-the-art PACCAR Parts Distribution Center near Budapest is nearing completion. The PACCAR Foundation has recently donated €100,000 to the National Széchényi Library of Hungary, which was founded in 1802 and is one of the most prestigious and renowned libraries in Central Europe.
“PACCAR is pleased to contribute to the Hungarian National Library, situated in the impressive Buda Castle Palace in Budapest,” said Aad Goudriaan, DAF Trucks president and PACCAR vice president. “PACCAR’s is making a major business investment in Hungary, with the construction of a new PACCAR Parts Distribution Center, which will play a crucial role in DAF’s growing success in Central and Eastern Europe.”
Hungarian National Library Director General Dr. István Monok, commented, “PACCAR and DAF’s leadership in supporting cultural excellence, through its generous donation to our National Library, will have an immediate, positive impact on the renovation and preservation of our world-class collection, which includes medieval manuscripts, often containing the oldest surviving relics of our language.”
