LPR Moves Into Ireland
The initiative complements recent contract wins in the UK and Ireland for LPR and is supported by Irish logistics organisation, Tolcarne.
The Midlands-based red pallet company previously serviced 40 drop points in Ireland from its base in the UK but with distribution profile numbers reaching 300, it was decided to have a permanent base in Ireland. The company now operates from facilities in Newcastle, near Dublin.
Tolcarne has been in operation in Ireland for ten years, servicing retailers and manufacturers and offering storage, distribution and niche logistics services. It operates a fleet of twelve vehicles, with three dedicated sites and is ideally placed to service LPR's FMCG client base.
Shaun Foley, director of Tolcarne, said: "We are delighted to be carrying the LPR flag in Ireland. We specialise in the retail marketplace and supply chain, so the fit is ideal between the two companies. Tolcarne has invested significantly in a dedicated solution in Ireland for LPR in order to facilitate the co-ordination and collection of pallets on a scheduled basis from Newcastle, Dublin, across Ireland, utilising LPR's SAP-based operating system."
Jane Gorick, managing director of LPR UK, noted; "LPR as a group is extremely excited about the Irish retail supply chain. Along with our partner Tolcarne, we are putting the infrastructure in place to deliver real growth into the long term. The retail sector, both in the UK and Ireland, is committed to innovation and progress and LPR is at the leading edge of forward-thinking solutions for the industry."
