55km Truck Reverse Fundraiser

Document Actions
"Trucking for Treacy", a novel fundraising event taking place at the end of August sees an articulated truck reverse 55kms around the heartland of County Mayo.

The cause centres around Jim Treacy from Ballindine, who in 2003 suffered severe spinal injury and currently resides in the O'Dwyer Cheshire Home in Bohola. It is hoped that over €100,000 will be raised to purchase a specially adapted car for Jim with the remaining funds donated to Spinal Injuries Ireland.

The organising team made up of Jim's former schoolmates and trucking friends in the region are currently putting together the final plans for the route which will take in the towns of Castlebar, Balla and Claremorris.

Sponsorship cards and donations can be made through Jarlath O'Connor on 086 8046539.

A dedicated Web site www.truckingfortreacy.com will be up and running shortly.
