Africa and the Elephant's graveyard
Where all good lorries go that don't end up in Malta...Biglorryblog has Jerry to thank for this one.
Biglorryblog's 'Good Man in Africa' (Uganda) Jerry Burley is definitely on a roll with his camera and spotting ex-UK trucks now working over there. Indeed he tells me: "
I can't even go out for an alcoholic Friday lunch without being visually-assaulted by ex-Brit bruisers (hence the poor quality picture taken on my phone). The last time I was in England I think this mob were alive and well, pounding the tarmac in the west country. Well, one of their retired pusher axle Leyland Daf O.A.P.'s is now delivering electricity poles around Uganda. Who would have guessed it? Only in Africa." Hmmm...I wonder how many miles it's got on the clock. Or maybe Downton's have opened a branch in Uganda? For the rercord they are definitely alive and well and runnign a thriving operation, not least distributing Commercial Motor to the newstrade wholesalers every Wednesday..! Now here's you can see a slightly 'newer' motor, and livery..
And here it is on a brand new MAN TGX.
