Hard to do without your Xenon headlights on a Scania..or "Eyeless in Glasgow"...
Take a look at this Scania...and tell me what’s wrong with it? Yes that's right, it doesn’t have any headlights. And why are there no headlights? Answer: Because last Wednesday some thieving git had them away. The Scania in question belongs to Pete Connock who is a mate of Martin Phippard—indeed it was Martin who alerted me to the story.

The local truck stop proprietor, having been told by Pete that he couldn't eat much of the normal fare because he was on the Atkins diet, took time out to go and buy a big fillet steak which he later served up with a scrumptious side salad. And when the time came to pay up for the special treatment Pete was told that he had undergone enough misfortune already and that the meal was "on the house." Talk about having your faith in human nature restored. What is it they say? For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction...? It would certainly appear to be the case here. Meanwhile, BLB would like to thank Martin and especially Pete for providing me with the pictures of his beloved Scania 620 minus the headlights! Moreover, through BLB, Pete wishes to warn to anyone whose vehicle is equipped with Xenon lights to watch out. Indeed, to thwart the thieves he reckons that it will now be necessary to park the trailer so that the back doors are inaccessible to anyone wanting to remove the load whilst leaving the tractor unit tight up against another vehicle or wall so that the lights are safe! Although he concludes, "it could be a bit tricky!" Nicely understated there Pete….

Surely the truckstop owner who provided fillet steak on the house deserves a free plug? If you know the name of his establishment...
