UPS has begun tests with an eco-friendly Modec electric van which will operate from the parcel giant's Camden facility within the London Low Emission Zone. According to UPS: "The quiet, carbon-neutral vehicle is the first of its kind to effectively harness the power of modern, high energy batteries to meet the medium range, high performance requirements of hard working, urban delivery vehicles."

Biglorryblog can't help noticing that Modec is starting to gain some 'traction' (if you'll forgive the obvious pun) with its electric vehicles and with a smart body to boot the wind-cheating whizzer should do well on parcels work in 'The Smoke.' And let's face it, without being unkind, it's alot more attractive than the normal UPS delivery vans...don't you think?

I know the Americans get a lot of flak for their gas guzzlers but some of them are taking green issues seriopusly.
